Well I guess that I must introduce myself to all…. WOW, that will take some time….
I’ll try to not to be too boring……
This is a VERY brief synopsis…
Firstly, I have had a very good life with it’s up and downs… BUT!, I DID IT MY WAY ,WITHOUT ANYONE’S HELP, except from my brother Brian, now sadly deceased a very long time ago, as he drew up the plans for my developments but now I am retired, well that’s a laugh….. never stopped, and I have not been able to achieve an earning level I would like, far from it, whilst on a very measly UK pension! Still working now..!
Wealthiest country in Europe that pays the lowest pension!
I have worked as self employed since the age of 18 in varying guises and hail from the South Coast of England.
I started working with my father, he was a master builder but sadly he died when I was 19 years old. I carried on working within the building industry using some skills learned from myDad, carrying out extensions, alterations etc. for a few years.
My passion then was cars and I suspect many youngsters were the same.

I enjoyed teaching myself how to repair cars including bodywork so set eventually set up a body repair business which I ran for some years. all self taught, and also joined a local motor club competing in autocross, rallies and other events and eventually building my own autocross car from scratch….the “Boulevard Bucket ”
Yes that’s it below….

It had a ladder chassis, donated from workshop next door, with flat 6 Corvair engine on a VW beetle gearbox out the rear…… great fun. Built for Autocross racing, but legalled it after as a road car!!! WOW, this thing would fly around corners, mid engine made all the difference.
After this time I decided that I would return to the building sector for many reasons. I purchased a few houses in bad condition which I renovated and sold. Doing 100% of the work myself,…. ![]()
I had bought, lived in, renovated and sold 3 houses also in this period ….
I then decided that I would like to do property development. So I re-mortgaged the house and bought a quality split level plot on which I built a beautiful split level property which sold immediately… 🙂
That was my start and went on to buy land and develop over 50 new houses. In 1999 the property market crash arrived so I left the building game and tried a few other things which did not fair so well.
1995 saw the birth of the internet and I knew that I wanted a part of it so taught myself to write html pages/sites but trying to sell websites at that time was like trying to juggle soot….. potential clients hadn’t a clue what I was talking about when I said that in a few years the internet would be like your local yellow pages…..!
They thought I was mad…
So decided to set up my own business on the internet….. looked for a product that
was small, not available in the shops and cheap to mail. I found Pheromones, yes, the sort that attracts the opposite sex!… 🙂 I managed to locate a lab in London that was producing pheromone products and got them to bottle for me with my own brand. Well for 4/5 years brilliant. I was taking orders of £3,500.00 from an American company for a couple of years then it slowly died as many hundreds, now thousands of people caught onto this lucrative market.
Partnered a new bar/restaurant that I converted from a bank in Bournemouth which was absolutely fabulous, but sadly my partner choice was not good and he killed the bar by allowing students in!!
Cost me oodles of dough that little venture….. 🙁
For the last few years I have been trying to earn a living on the internet with not huge success, but I will never give up trying, it is all valuable learning. Now with AI of course, it in some ways make it easier….
Meanwhile in my life, I was married at 20 and was blessed with two very lovely girls within a few
years but divorced after 33 years. During my marriage I achieved many things and had many boy’s toys such as my 928S Porsche for 3 years, Mercedes 500 SL, a Gibsea 96 yacht in Turkey, boats in UK and latterly a BMW Z3 for 3 years before I moved to France. in 2003. I have to say this was the most fun car…. brilliant coming back from the South of France to Cherbourg ferry doing 145mph most of the way on the mway after coming across the mountains from San Tropez!!!! with the roof down….and amazingly no wind in the car, super journey…If they had caught me on the m ways in France I am sure they would have banged me up… but strange thing that their mway sections all have timing on them which would tell them them the speed I was doing!
I enjoyed my single life for a while and even started a little business running a weekly Singles Evening at a local luxury hotel in the Marina which was a resounding success and which I ran for nearly five years. Great fun…Fun :-))
During this time also searching for a new partner…… without any luck… I am fussy….
After giving the family home to my Ex. I had to start again…. not quite so easy at 60 years old….
and then in 2003 I moved to the South of France by myself, but with help of Gerry and Jaffy, two lovely friends who helped get everything down South, including Benjy my Bengalese cat…:-) just so fed up with with the miseable English weather, to near Beziers, along from Montpelier, bought an old winery with a
huge loft which I converted into a Parisian style loft apartment which I eventually sold. ALL WORK CARRIED OUT BY JUST ME! Apart from lifting plasterboard sheets up to the first floor with the help of a new friend,Alan who I have not found for years, tried many times unsuccessfully. Those sheets were nearly the death of me when I tried to move them away from the wall to release a cable behind when they overbalanced and trapped me underneath. It was more than an hour before I managed to free myself… hen I rented for a while, bought a virtually derelict, one up one down house which I renovated, sold,

During 2008 my gorgeous daughter
Charlie gave me a the most wonderful present…… a little bundle of a Grand Daughter who was named later as MOLLY!
Now, this little bundle is a tall elegant and beautiful champion…..
She is a winner, achieving at all she attempts…. Love you sooooo much Molly, think you have my genes
Molly, just out of the oven…….:-)))
Then moved to Spain in the Alpujarra in 2009 where I bought an old Finca (farm house) at 1000 metres high with 2.5 hectares of figs and almonds. Could not afford a property with some space around it in France, I did try as I would have preferred to stay in France.
More work…………. and forteen years later….. still here on the mountain, nearly finished renovating and rebuilding, major job, AND during this period, early 2010, I was lucky to meet my present wife, Rasa, from Lithuania, to whom I have now been very happily married for 14 years….. 🙂 2026
The rebuilding of the farmhouse you can see here:-https//my-finca.com
You can see here another website of mine with Rasa too

Now we are in a small town in Alicante province, virtually at sea level… wonderful not having that winding 1/2 hour drive up that hill every time…
SO IT STARTS AGAIN very old house with no windowas…. no water, no electricity all bricked up, trees growing over the house….etc.etc etc.
More Later… 🙂
So life goes on……

Already told Rasa to have “I DID IT MY WAY!” playing as a goodbye life for all that I achieved by myself!
